Principal Cook off Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
September 1, 2009 to November 7, 2009

1. SPONSOR: The Sponsor of the Principal Cook off Contest (the "Contest") is GIANT Food Stores ("GIANT") and MARTIN'S Food Markets ("MARTIN'S”).

2. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY to enter or win the contest. Contest begins at 12:01 Eastern Time (“ET”) on September 1, 2009 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on November 7, 2009 (“Contest Period”). There are two (2) ways to enter: 1) Online: Visit the Giant or Martin’s web site at www.giantaplus.com or www.martinsaplus.com click on the “Principal Cook Off Contest” link and follow the directions provided to submit your recipe and complete the official entry form. The school principal needs to complete the form by filling in all other required information, and submit it by clicking on the “Submit” button. To qualify, the recipe must (1) Contain at least two Giant brand products; (2) Contain 8 or less ingredients and list the measurement of ingredients and directions for preparation ; (3) Combined Prep and Cook time of 30 minutes or less. By submitting a recipe, you acknowledge and hereby grant Sponsor the right to post such recipe on www.giantaplus.com or www.martinsaplus.com. Recipe must be entrant’s own original work, may not have been submitted in connection with any other promotion, be in keeping with the Sponsor’s image and may not be offensive, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights or any other third party rights. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any recipe (and the entry) it deems to be offensive, inappropriate, is not in keeping with Sponsor’s image, or that is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, in its sole discretion. Online entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on October 12, 2009. All entrants must provide a valid phone number or e-mail address through which they may be contacted should they win the Grand Prize.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to all school principals registered with the A+ School Rewards program for the 2009/2010 school year who are legal residents of Pa., Md., Va. and WVa., ages 18 and over.

4. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The submission of a recipe that follows the above stated guidelines via the web consists of an entry. All web entries received after October 12, 2009 “Sponsor”, including its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, officers and/or directors for purposes of these rules, is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, or misdirected entries, technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or suspend the promotion should an unauthorized intervention or other cause beyond the control of Sponsor affect the administration or proper conduct of the promotion or for any other reason. Sponsor hereby disclaim any liability whatsoever in connection with this promotion. By entering, each entrant acknowledges and accepts such disclaimer. All entries, and any copyrights therein, become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned, even if this promotion is canceled, terminated or suspended for any reason. By entering, each entrant (1) agrees to abide by these rules; and (2) grants to Sponsor all of the entrant’s rights in and to the entrant’s recipe, including, but not limited to, the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use the recipe without further permission, notice or compensation. Sponsor are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing of entry forms, these Contest Official Rules or in the administration of Contest.

5. PRIZES: The Grand Prize consists of 100,000 A+ Bonus Points and a $100 gift certificate to Camp Hill Cooking School, valid for one year. The Grand Prize winner’s recipe will also be featured on the A+ website www.giantaplus.com and www.martinsaplus.com . The two (2) 1st place winners will receive 50,000 A+ Bonus Points and a $25 gift certificate to the Camp Hill Cooking School, valid for one year.
Any unclaimed and returned prize will not be awarded. Deduction of taxes from prize will be done according to IRS guidelines. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any listed prize for one of equal or lesser value if the designated prize should become unavailable. All prizes are non-transferable, and no substitutions will be made. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel this promotion at any time during the promotion period. Sponsor is not responsible for winner limitations that prevent acceptance or use of any prize. All federal, state and local taxes where applicable are the sole responsibility of the prize recipient. Winner must comply with all Contest rules as published.

6. JUDGING: All eligible entries received will be judged by a panel of judges (the “Judges”) defined by the sponsor. Judging will occur in three different segments, (1) Internal judges will narrow the recipes down to 5 based on overall recipe appeal and by making sure the following criteria are followed:
• Include at least two Giant brand products.
• Contain 8 or less ingredients.
(2) Those 5 winners will be posted on line at www.giantaplus.com or www.martinsaplus.com for the public to vote for their favorite. You will need to be registered for the A+ School Rewards program in order to place a vote on line. Semifinalist will be notified via telephone. This process will narrow our recipes down to the final three. (3) The remaining three winners selected will participate in a recipe cook-off event and compete for the Grand Prize. Principal will be required to be in attendance to bring ingredients and prepare the recipe within 30 minutes or less. Judging of the three semifinalists will take place on or about 11/7/09 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania at the Giant Food Store Cooking School. .
Judging for this event will include the following criteria:
• Include at least two Giant brand products
• Contain 8 or less ingredients.
• Overall Taste (based on Level 1-4)
• Creativity
• Visual Appeal
• Combined Prep and Cook Time of 30 minutes
In such a case, an alternate semifinalist will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries. The winner of the Grand Prize will be announced at the conclusion of the cook-off. The remaining four semifinalists will receive the first place prize. The second place prizes winners will see their Bonus Points reflected in December’s monthly total. Transportation to and from the Giant Cooking School will be the sole responsibility of winners. Judges decisions are final and may not be appealed.

7. RELEASE: Winner(s) will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability/Publicity for the specific prize before prize will be awarded. Winner(s) will be required to return documents within fourteen (14) days from the postmark date on the prize notification letter. Failure to comply with this requirement or return of prize notification as undeliverable will result in forfeiture of prize. By participating, Winner(s) release Sponsor and their respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the directors, officers, employees or agencies of the above organization from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of the prize. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute and signify Winner's agreement and consent that Sponsor may use Winner's name, address, likeness, photo(s) and/or prize information for promotional purposes without further payment or consideration. All Online and Mail Entries become the property of Sponsor and none will be returned.

8. WINNERS LIST: To obtain a list of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: GIANT Food Stores, LLC, Attn: A+ School Rewards , "Principal Cook Off Contest" Winners, 1149 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013, by December 31, 2009.
