Follow these suggested transition feeding guidelines for the best success

Change is good, just take it slow
Because changes in a dog's or cat's diet can cause intestinal upset, it is recommended that you make the change gradually over a 7-10 day period. If you're switching from one brand to Companion, follow these steps:

  • Start out with your pet's current food and a very small portion (about 10%) of Companion food.
  • Continue increasing the amount of Companion each day (10% more each day) as you also decrease the amount of his current food by the same amount.
  • By the end of 10 days, your dog and/or cat will be eating a 100% Companion pet food diet. And loving it!

Feeding for the best results

FEEDING AMOUNTS: For proper feeding amounts for your cat or dog, check the Companion package for guidelines that relate to your pet's particular size and age. Different factors like activity level, environment and age may make it necessary for you to adjust your pet's feeding amount. Feed to keep your pet in the best condition, and ask your veterinarian for guidance if needed.

WATER: Make clean, fresh water available to your pet at all times. Clean food and water dishes daily.

NO SUPPLEMENTS NEEDED: Unless directed by your veterinarian, it is not necessary to add supplemental vitamins, minerals or other foods to your pet's diet. If your pet is eating Companion dog or cat food, you can be assured that he's receiving 100% complete and balanced nutrition.

WHERE: To minimize stress for your pet, place your cat's or dog's food and water dishes away from foot traffic and noise, in a place that is comfortable for him to reach. Because cats and dogs are creatures of habit, don't change the location of the dishes unless it is absolutely necessary.
